Aubree Dale

Aubree Dale is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Fort Worth, TX. She earned a BFA in Painting and Drawing from The University of North Texas in 2010 and later studied Architectural & Ornamental Welding at Austin Community College.

Aubree’s work is an ongoing negotiation between the synthetic and the organic, the discarded and the reimagined. Through painting, sculpture, installation and performance, she addresses the individual’s role within our modern social networks and natural systems. Her work is maximalist and driven by a deep engagement with material processes, form and complex palettes, combining hard and soft materials with transparent layers and detailed mark-making.

Using large scale painting as a means of preliminary world building, complex ecosystems reference both expansive places of natural beauty and intimate domestic spaces. Smaller works and sculpture function as journal entries, capturing memories, wishes, and inquiries into imagined places or alternative scenarios, reflecting ongoing projects, caretaking, consumption, and daydreams. Subtle movement is a recurring element in her sculptural and installation practice. Her background in welding and specialty fabrication drives her to experiment with new mediums and reinterpret traditional domestic crafts. Found object assemblage sculptures, crafted from rescued single-use items, home improvement materials, and homemade bioplastics, result in soft, dynamic artifacts and portals.
