Corey Godfrey

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair and red lipstick wearing glasses, surrounded by red string art.

Corey Godfrey is a German-born fiber artist who resides in Dallas, Texas. She graduated with a BFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of North Texas in 2008. She is also the Production and Administrative Manager at the arts non-profit AURORA, an organization that focuses on art, technology, and community.

Corey’s work is rooted in a fascination with “craft” materials, specifically yarn. A material typically associated with “women’s work,” her use of yarn provokes a passage of time, sensuality, resilience and beauty, all of which portray the strength of women as they transform and integrate into their surroundings, their nature.

Corey has exhibited her work regionally and nationally.
